Osgood-Schlatter Disease: Practical Treatment for a Self-Limiting Condition
If an active adolescent has pain at the distal end of the patellar tendon, chances are good that it's Osgood-Schlatter disease. The primary antidote is activity restriction, the level of which should be matched to the severity of symptoms. Specific exercises, detailed in the accompanying Patient Adviser, may also relieve pain.

Exercise as Disease Detector
The heart and lungs aren't the only organs subjected to stress when people exercise. As various case examples show, exertion may evoke signs or symptoms that unmask such conditions as anemia, bladder tumors, gastrointestinal problems, nerve injury, and hypothyroidism.

Weight Training Injuries: Part 2: Diagnosing and Managing Chronic Conditions

Relative rest and correction of poor technique usually help.

Mountain Biking Injuries: Fitting Treatment to the Causes
